bright this way

Hi Friends,

It's ice cream/fro-yo weather in SF for the next few days!  Although rain is in the forecast towards the end of the week.  Anything goes this time of the year when it comes to the weather, so I'll take advantage of the sunshine while I can and bust out my super fun dresses.

I fell in love with this off the shoulder H&M dress as soon as I saw it on the mannequin at the mall.  I longingly stared at it as I waited for Easter to come and my ban on shopping was lifted...lol!  Unfortunately, it has since sold out online BUT I'm still seeing them at the store, so hurry! :) I'm wearing a size 2, which is also the smallest size it comes in.  It is super comfortable and you can definitely dress it up with strappy heels or more casual with cute flip-flops or sandals.  I'm wearing a belt to cinch it up and make it look a little more work polished but I actually prefer it without. This dress will definitely make it to my travel wardrobe coming up in a few short weeks.  Yippee!!!  I'll share more of my travel plans on my next post.

I'm really loving the dresses from H&M this season.  Here's a similar off the shoulder dress also from H&M and this red one too.  I'm also eyeing this one from Shein and love this Nordstrom pretty lace one. for a summer date night dress.

Plume necklace
Drape ear jacket

Bliss Cuff bracelet
Enlighten bracelet - purchase of this bracelet supports Every Mother Counts, a non-profit organization dedicated to making pregnancy and childbirth safe for every mother. Great gifts for the amazing mom, sister, girlfriends or best friends in your life.

Old Navy denim jacket, I'm wearing a small petite.  This is a classic cut denim jacket. No frills.
TOMS peep toe booties.  I'm wearing a size 5.5.  They are seriously so comfortable and this will also make it in the travel wardrobe capsule.  It runs true to size and can be worn with skinny jeans, shorts, skirts and dresses. The material is suede and it also comes in black!  I've tried on other peep toe booties that are similar in style but I found the TOMS to be the most comfortable fit and price.
Here's a  similar peep toe bootie and this one at a lower price point and this JCPenney one is a super close replica of my TOMS.

enjoy your week!

Spring Flinging

Happy Friday All!

Wanted to share my #ootd that will probably be in heavy rotation for the next few months.  Also my super awesome WhoWhatWear finds from Target!

This Old Navy Peplum top is perfect!  The material is lightweight and the color combo of yellow and purple is so pretty.  I'm wearing a Small Petite (online only).  I also bought it in white and blue stripe color and I'm so glad I did! There's a couple more color combo and there's a big chance that I'll pick those up too when it comes time to redeem my ON Super Cash.

The Old Navy Pixie pants are from last year but they have a lot of different colors available in store and online.  The petite sizing runs small though, so make sure to size up.  I'm normally a 2P and I sized up to 4P.

Shoes are from Ross.  I just got them last Thursday, 3/24, so they might still be available at your local stores. The brand is Report.  Otherwise, I feel like every single major shoe brand carries this style.

Necklace is a combination of two of my go-to Stella & Dot pieces. Zuni and Isa Disc necklace.
Drape cardigan is from H&M

My lunch time on Wednesday was spent at good ole' Target to check out the WhoWhatWear line.  I picked up this Ruffle sleeve top and this Fluted Shift Dress.  I don't see the smaller size available online but it's most likely still available at your local Target store.  I'm wearing a size Small for both the top and the dress.  The material is polyester which is great for traveling because it won't get too wrinkled in the luggage.  Shorts is from their Xhilaration brand.  I live the lightweight feel of it and it has pockets!

I'm planning to wear the top with one of my midi length circle skirt similar to this one or denim shorts for a more casual look.

Enjoy your Friday and the weekend following!

look on the bright side

Hi all,

It's been absolutely sunny and perfect in the City this week.  I'm sooo excited for Spring!  Not only do I get to start wearing my bright and colorful dresses, I'm also considering commuting to work in my super fun orange bike again! Yippee!

Here's a throwback picture from 2013 when I modeled for Public bike riding their e-bike.  And yes, that's a real SF hill folks! No, I wasn't pedaling thanks to the nifty gadget attached to the bike to make it go vroom! hee hee...

My own Public bike gifted by my super awesome husband a few years back.

Clementine
So I'm sure y'all know by now that my favorite color is Orange.  I thinks it's such a happy color and it plays nice with all the other crayons in the box (^_^)

Leather jacket by Halogen (thrifted) similar here and here
Top (extra 40% off with code: BRSPRING)
Skirt by Halogen (old) similar here and here

I've been on a look out for sunnies like this style and I think I found it!  This is Stephanie's pair that she's had since last year. I hope I can find the same ones but in brown turquoise.

Have a wonderful Easter weekend everyone.  I'll be spending mine with the in-laws.  Church then brunch at Sam's Cafe, so excited!

check please

Hi Friends,

The sun is shining brightly here in SF.  I'm transitioning to my Spring wardrobe and loving it!  My clothes in general runs bright and colorful so this time of the year is definitely my favorite!

This week Stephanie and I met at Embarcadero II in FiDi.  We took pictures and then treated ourselves to a delicious smoothie from Blue Hawaii.  Sooo good!

Gingham shirt dress - this dress is currently on sale for $28 plus additional 17% no code needed.

#becauseshortlegs  this fits me more like a midi dress as opposed to knee length on the model. I'm wearing an XS Regular with room for laundry shrinkage.  Unfortunately this dress does not come in petite size but I like it a lot that I still went ahead and got it and happy that I did.  The material is lightweight but not see through at all as one of the reviewer said on the site (unless you have x-ray vision!) In that case, let's talk!  hee hee (^_^)

I can see myself styling this also as a layer over a simple knee length dress underneath, kind of like a dress coat and add a belt to cinch it or wear it with plain shirt with white pants and platforms.  Watch my IG feed for alternative looks in the near future.

Sandals (old) - almost identical here and really like this one here and here
Belt (old) - great finds here and here

Earrings - can be worn 2 ways
Necklace - can be worn 4 ways

This is Stephanie. Isn't she pretty!?  You can follow her IG feed here.  She's wearing the super versatile Brynn lariat necklace which can be worn multiple ways.  I've styled it three different ways here.  I just ordered my own but I got the silver one instead.

By the way, Stephanie is currently booking for April/May photo shoot.  So if you're thinking of Mother's Day, Engagement and Portrait photos taken, make sure to reach out to her and get in her book :)

Remember this dress from my previous post?  It's still available although size is very limited but it's less than $15 now and extra 17% off as well.  This happens to be my real #ootd (3/17/16)

Happy Saint Patrick's Day Everyone!

spring in my step

Hi all ~

This weekend, we Spring forward one hour.  Yes, we lose an hour of precious sleep however we gain one hour of daylight! Yippee! I look forward to running outdoors again after work.  However, we've been getting rained on here in SF, so outdoor running might have to wait just a bit longer.  I'm not a big fan of running in the rain.  Jumping in puddles is more my jam (^_^)

Mossimo crop skinny jeans - So this is supposed to be cropped jeans as seen on the model but #becauseshortlegs it's the perfect length on me!  Similar here, here and love this one too here.  I'm wearing a size 2 and the material is stretchy so I think I could've have gotten a size 0 but that would leave no room for cupcake :(

Gucci loafers - awesome find from A Second Chance consignment store in NYC.  Similar collection here (consignment online store)

Gap blazer similar here and here.  I'm wearing a size 4.

Hat similar here, here and here
Floral blouse (old). Similar here and love this one

This is Stephanie - shes's the force behind the lens.  I cannot thank her enough for all the fun pictures and girls time we spend. To see more of her awesome pictures, follow her on Instagram: @Marilee and check out her website here: marilee.co

Lastly, I just want to thank you for reading/following this little blog of mine.  To some it might not make sense why I "waste" my time doing this or why do I want to be a Stella & Dot stylist when I already have a full time job to begin with.  My answer to all the Negative Nelly, Debbie Downer  and the doubters out there is this.  Because I can! Because I wake up every morning excited that I get to share what I love with you all.  Because I look forward to spending time with the amazing ladies that I meet at my shows. Because I thrive in a supportive environment of strong women that's out there pursuing their dreams.  Hustling to get things done.
So thank you to the Nellys and the Debbies because your views and opinions only adds more fuel to light my ass on fire and keep going, stronger, better, harder. Thank you.

these dungarees are made for jumping

Happy Friday Friends!

The rain is back in the City and I'm loving it!  Rain down here means snow up in the mountains and hopefully more water reserves for our poor California drought :(

Two things I'm excited about:
  1. It's Friday! Yeay!!!
  2. Styling these overalls Yippee!
  3. Yes, I know I said two but the third one is sooo good!  I'm taking a motorcycle class this weekend! Eeeekkk! This lil' blogger will be rolling around in a scooter soon enough.  Fingers crossed on finding a used orange Vespa, of course! Oh, and I guess I have to pass the test too! details...details...
Anywhoo...  Back to number two, yeay!

Denim overalls - I styled it three different ways.  I'm wearing a size 4 regular and could have easily gone with a size 2, but I typically put my denim through the dryer so I know for sure that it will shrink to the comfortable size that I actually want.  The cut is skinny fit so it's not too baggy even for my petite stature.

Denim overalls - get additional 20% off with code: DRESSEDUP
Button down shirt - additional 30% with code: FIRSTLOOK
Necklace - can be worn 5 different ways
Kate Spade cross body bag (different color). Also love this and this.

a stylist debut

Last Friday, I held my Stylist Debut Show.  I had SO much fun with my long time girlfriends and also met some pretty awesome new gals!  If you missed my trunk show, you can still shop it via this link: Jake's Stylist Debut Show.  If you spend $50, you'll unlock my trunk show exclusive items at 50% off.

I was introduced to Stella&Dot over a  year ago and instantly fell in love with their entire collection! You've seen me on IG wearing their accessories on a regular basis. I have a lot of fun mix and matching all my S&D pieces.  So it was natural for me to make the move to become an Independent Stylist. I get to meet and hang out with lovely ladies, style them, drink bubblies and make extra $$ on the side? Yes please!

H&M Fringe Dress

I seriously love this dress.  I twirled around all night and might have done an impromptu dance to Tina Turner's Rolling Down the River later in the evening (^_^).  I'm wearing a size 4 and it fits well.  The top is a little on the snug side so if you're busty then definitely size up!

Look at all the cute boxes the jewelry comes in!  No wrapping needed!

Styled this oversized scarf as a vest!

Hello gorgeousness!  This drape collar necklace is my absolute most favorite piece from our Spring collection! I wore it to my recent NYC trip and got tons of compliment.  It's so pretty in person and goes with just about any outfit you're wearing.  Dress up, down, casual, chic - it looks good!

YEAY!
